There are few artists in 2018 who are as groovy as Børns. The 26-year-old has had quite the year so far and now releases a funked-up version of album track ‘Tension’.
It’s been non-stop shows since the release of Børns’ sophomore record, Blue Madonna, in January (and what an album that is) with tours across the US and Europe, as well as slots at festivals including Coachella and, this weekend, Lollapalooza.
Blue Madonna is an intergalactic showing of the ever-effervescent popstar’s talent and after the singles ‘Faded Heart’, ‘Sweet Dreams’, ‘God Save Our Young Blood’ and ‘We Don’t Care’, comes this remix of ‘Tension’.
The original version of the track is a plodding 94-second interval on the album, in one of those gloriously catchy efforts that ends just too soon. Børns is certainly not afraid to play with the track, mixing it into Madonna’s ‘Holiday’ in a move that had fans screaming during his tours.
Now, Philadelphia-based DJ, Noah Breakfast adds a fairy-like pattern to the track, making it perfect for late summer nights. It seems the first taste of more collaborative work between the two, with Børns asking fans’ opinions on Instagram and teasing future releases.
